Now this is a big one for me. I see business clients all the time that have unlicensed software, no back-ups, open wireless networks, auto-login accounts, easy passwords, no firewalls, outdated anti-virus software, no anti-spyware software and unsafe surfing habits. First, you are in business, so you have client data, private process information, and financial systems all tied into your network. Second, you count on these systems and their data to help generate revenue. Finally, you are in deep kimshee if you lose data, reveal sensitive information to the wrong people, or are sued for intentional copyright infringement. Keeping all of that in mind, you should treat these systems as business systems. They should only run licensed software (1 purchased license per machine), they should be protected with hard to access networks and passwords, they should be immune to common virus and spyware, and they should be backed up frequently. If you need some help substantially improving your odds of keeping your information safe and available for use and your business running smoothly, call us now!
