Just an update. Vista's 64 bit version release has pushed some substantial driver development work, but the list of unsupported hardware is still monumental. Careful planning of any 64 bit OS adoption for support of used applications and hardware can get you phenomonal performance gains. Failing to identify critical unsupported software or unsupported hardware can cost you huge productivity losses or at least the cost of the 64 bit software and the time spent trying it.
